“I’d love to make my own miso someday…”
But somehow—
buying the ingredients, finding the time, wondering if you can actually do it…
it keeps getting pushed back.
If that sounds like you, this workshop is exactly for you.
And once you make it once, something interesting often happens…
Making miso becomes a yearly tradition.
In Japan, miso has long been valued not only as a preserved food, but almost like food as medicine—something to nourish and support everyday wellbeing.
There is even an old saying:
“Miso in the morning helps keep the body balanced.”
One of the most fascinating things about homemade miso is this:
Even with exactly the same ingredients, everyone’s miso turns out differently.
Why?
Because your own natural microbiome becomes part of the fermentation journey.
At this workshop, you’ll take home:
✨ Around 1kg of your very own handmade miso
And honestly… watching it mature over time becomes part of the joy.
📅 Sunday,28th June | 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM
📍 Bundeena, NSW
💰 $190(includes approx. 1kg of your own miso to take home)

Join Carolina, a local artist, for a mini basket weaving workshop using natural materials, followed by a hands-on gyoza dumpling-making class with Tomoko.
Basket weaving offers teens a chance to slow down, focus, and engage in a creative process away from screens. Working with natural materials helps develop patience, fine motor skills, problem-solving abilities, and confidence, while encouraging mindfulness and self-expression.
After the weaving session, participants will learn how to make delicious homemade gyoza from scratch. Cooking together builds practical life skills, encourages healthy eating habits, and gives teens the satisfaction of creating and enjoying their own meal.
A fun and rewarding day of creativity, connection, and hands-on learning—while making new friends and enjoying wholesome food.

Join Loz for a 1-hour Pilates session designed especially for teens.
Pilates helps teens develop core strength, improve posture, increase flexibility, and build better balance and coordination. It can also support body awareness, concentration, and confidence—particularly valuable during the rapid physical changes of adolescence. Regular Pilates practice may help reduce muscle tension from long periods of sitting, studying, or screen use, while encouraging healthy movement habits that can last a lifetime.
After moving their bodies, participants will enjoy a hands-on Japanese cooking class with Tomoko, learning how to make their own nutritious onigiri (Japanese rice balls) for lunch.
There's something special about sitting down to enjoy food you've made yourself. Along the way, teens will gain practical kitchen skills, learn about healthy eating, and experience the satisfaction of creating a simple, wholesome meal from scratch.
A fun and engaging day that combines movement, nourishment, and real-life skills—all while connecting with others away from screens
